The Best Mom Jeans

June 18, 2019

A couple of months ago I saw an ad about how Madewell turns old jeans into home insulation and I immediately knew what I was going to do with my favorite Topshop jeans that had just ripped at the butt…I was so happy that they were going to good use and was even happier when I got $20 off a pair of Madewell jeans from bringing them in as well!

I had been thinking of getting some mom jeans to do something different since every pair of jeans I’ve ever had have been tight. So I saw these and got so excited!

One thing to note is the unique sizing. I really had to size down for mine and they’re still big on me after wearing them a few times. It took me a couple tries to get the sizing right since I ended up needing to order them online to get the tall size. I first ordered “The Perfect Vintage Jean in Fitzgerald Wash” in size 24 but they were way too tight in the thighs. I then realized that they had “The Curvy Perfect Vintage Jean in Fitzgerald Wash” which had a different proportion of waist to hip. I then ordered those jeans in both 24 and 25 and ended up keeping the 24. The thigh sizes for the original vs curvy jeans are wayyy different. And now that they’ve stretched out in the waist I actually wish I got size 23…for reference, I usually get a size 26. So that’s really sized down from normal.

Even though there were hiccups with sizing and they’re still big in the waist, I’m still so excited about these!! And I just found this hack to make the waist smaller so definitely trying that!
